MISSOULA, MONT - The Missoula Osprey in conjunction with the Flagship Progam, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Missoula, the Hospice Care Foundation and the Brain Injury Alliance of Montana announced their partnership on a new and exciting summer fundraiser, Dinner on the Diamond that will take place Tuesday, July 30 at Ogren Park Allegiance Field.
The unique evening will allow event-goers to have dinner at tables' setup on the grass of Ogren Park Allegiance Field. A buffet-style prime rib dinner will be served with sides, soda, water and dessert to mimic the famed Missoula Osprey party deck menu. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
Tickets for the event are $50 per person. A croquet tournament and calcutta bingo are planned as additional elements of the fundraiser for prizes. Entry into the croquet tournament is $25 and $20 for the calcutta, which are both available for purchase in advance.
The gates will open at 5:30 for a social time, with croquet slated to start around 6, with dinner and other activities to follow.
" The Osprey are proud to help produce the Dinner on the Diamond for these local non-profit groups, " said Osprey Vice President/General Manager Jeff Griffin. " These non-profits span a broad demographic in the services they provide and this event allows us to use the facility on a non-baseball game day to improve the quality of life in the community. "
July 30 is a scheduled off-day for the Missoula Osprey, one of five throughout their 76 game schedule.
" Flagship partners with the Osprey, as do many other non-profits throughout the year during their baseball games with multiple fundraising activities and awareness opportunities and this is just another piece of that involvement that allows us to widen our reach with the team and at the stadium, " said Flagship Program Fund Development Coordinator Tammy Bodlovic.
"We are very excited to be teaming up with the Missoula Osprey and these other non-profit groups, " said Brain Injury Alliance Outreach Coordinator Molly Walsh. " To be surrounded by such great organizations is truly an honor; Dinner on the Diamond will be a homerun event! "
" The Ronald McDonald House of Missoula is proud to be teaming up with three other well-known Missoula non-profits - to hold a special event in concert with the Missoula Osprey at Ogren Park Allegiane Field, " said Ronald McDonald House Charities of Missoula Executive Director Joe Bischof. " It is a rare occasion to have a joint fundraiser between a number of non-profits, but this promises to be a very special event. Each of us strives in our own ways to support the youth and citizens of Missoula, and we hope you will come out to celebrate the work that we all do. "
" I am looking forward to a great meal, croquet, calcutta and a chance to be down on the field and see behind the scenes, while at the same time celebrating life and hope, " added Bischof. "
We recognize the importance of collaborative efforts and using partnerships to raise funds, " said Hospice Care Foundation Chief Operating Officer Kevi Berger. " The Hospice Care Foundation is proud to collaborate with the three other high achieving partners and the Missoula Osprey to carry out an event which will help to financially support all of the organizations, all while providing an interactive and unique event for the public."
Tickets for the event, along with croquet and calcutta spots go on sale, Friday April 12 at 10 a.m. at the MSO Hub Box Office located at 140 N Higgins in downtown Missoula. There will be a limited number of croquet slots available.
The Osprey play 38 regular season home games each summer. The 2013 home opener is slated for June 20 versus Helena.
