Mallards Will Host First Pitch Event on April 7th

Madison, WI - March 27, 2013. The Madison Mallards will host their annual First Pitch event on Sunday, April 7th at 2:00 pm at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center.

At the event the Mallards will unveil a community impact report that outlines investments the Mallards have made to Warner Park as part of their partnership with the City of Madison Parks Department and highlights other positive community partnerships that the Mallards have developed.

The Mallards will also announce stadium improvements for the 2013 season including the addition of the TRICOR/West Bend Club four-top tables. These tables, which will be located in the TRICOR/West Bend Club, will have refurbished rotating Camden Yards stadium seats and will seat four people. They are currently being sold as season tickets to local businesses. The tables include all-you-can-eat in the TRICOR/West Bend Club including a specialty food menu, private wait staff, and three draught beers per person.

The Mallards will also give fans a look into the 2013 promotional schedule.

This family friendly event is free and open to the public. Ballpark food, soda and water will be served by Mallards staff and Mallards mascot Maynard G. Mallard will be in attendance. The Mallards giant bounce house will also be open for use.

Speakers at the event will include Mallards Owner Steve Schmitt, Mallards President Vern Stenman, and Mallards General Manager Conor Caloia. A question and answer session about the 2013 Mallards, stadium improvements and the promotional schedule will follow the event.

The Mallards will host their season opener against the Eau Claire Express on May 29th at 7:05 pm at the "Duck Pond." Single-game tickets will go on sale April 27th.

The Madison Mallards are part of the 16-team Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America. In 2013, the Northwoods League will celebrate its 20th season.
