
2013 Promotional Schedule Announced

(Central Islip, N.Y., Mar. 13, 2013) - The Atlantic League champion Long Island Ducks today announced the club's promotional schedule for the 2013 season. The team also unveiled their marketing slogan for the 2013 campaign, "It's Game Time," which will adorn promotional items and marketing materials throughout the entire season.
"We have an incredible lineup of giveaway and theme nights scheduled for our 14th season," says Ducks president and general manager Michael Pfaff. "Fans will be able to enjoy exciting baseball along with fun and affordable family entertainment all year long."
All the excitement begins on Opening Night, Friday, April 26, when Long Island (and America's) #1 family-owned and operated appliance and electronics company, P.C. Richard & Son, will present the first-ever "Replica Championship Ring Night." Ceramic molds of the team's 2012 Atlantic League championship ring will be handed out to the first 1,500 fans in attendance, courtesy of the electronics & appliance giant and long-time Ducks sponsor, prior to that night's game against the Sugar Land Skeeters at 7:05 p.m.
The promotional schedule also features a variety of other championship-themed giveaway items, including commemorative autograph books, magnet schedules and posters, replica trophies, and championship logo caps. Brand new for 2013, the Ducks will feature a seven-part Collector's Series that includes a pin pennant and six commemorative pins highlighting memorable moments in team history. Be sure to collect them all and celebrate the team's first 13 seasons on Long Island.
In addition, the Ducks will light the sky with a record-tying 14 Grucci Fireworks Extravaganzas sprinkled throughout the year. All fireworks shows at Bethpage Ballpark are performed by the world famous Grucci Family of Long Island, another long-time partner of the Ducks. Fans will be treated to giveaway items such as t-shirts, caps, mini bats, foam fingers and more along with a variety of theme nights throughout the season. In all, 49 of the team's 70 home games are being announced as promotional days, with more sure to follow. By comparison, the MLB clubs in the area, the Mets and Yankees, have 37 of 81 and 36 of 81 scheduled, respectively. Some special dates already scheduled include the Eighth Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night, Peanut-Free/Food Allergy Awareness Day, 9/11 Responder's Night, Hunger Awareness Day, "Don't Fry Day" and our first ever Camp Day with a special 11:05 a.m. start time. Tickets for all of these dates will go on sale beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, at the Bethpage Ballpark box office. The ballpark will be the one and only place to get Ducks game tickets until 2:00 p.m. that afternoon, so fans are encouraged to arrive early to ensure the best availability for all of this year's great promotional dates.
This Saturday, to mark the Opening Day of Ticket Sales, fans will be treated to a carnival-like atmosphere on the plaza at Bethpage Ballpark beginning at 8:00 a.m. Players, coaches and QuackerJack will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures, joining emcees The Wiseman & Frank of B-103 to lead the morning excitement. Send in the Clowns Entertainment and Wax Creations will be providing fun and entertainment for everyone in attendance while Mario and Luigi will also stop by to celebrate this special day, courtesy of Play N Trade.
Bethpage Federal Credit Union will be on hand with giveaways and prizes for Ducks fans, including a $500 gift card for the first fan in line for tickets. Centerplate, the official concessions partner of the Long Island Ducks, and Bethpage will have coffee, hot chocolate, bagels and other items for fans as they wait to purchase tickets to watch the defending Atlantic League champions all summer long.
Tickets go on sale on Saturday for the following promotions scheduled for the 2013 Ducks season.
