HIDALGO, Texas -- Glen Rice, Jr.'s double-double 29 points, 11 rebounds led the Rio Grande Valley Vipers 118-110 over the Austin Toros tonight at State Farm Arena

Tonight's matchup was a battle for the top spot in the NBA Development League Central Division. Entering tonight's contest, both teams were tied with a 22-14 record. Tonight's win gave RGV the top spot in the division and second seed in the race for the playoffs.

Additionally, the Vipers were led by Royce White with 23 points. Andrew Goudelock added 20 points, and Toure Murry tallied 19 points.

Tre Kelley led the Toros with 23 points. JaMychal Green tallied a double-double 20 points, 11 rebounds. Tyler Wilkerson also added a double-double 14 points, 10 rebounds. Chris Roberts recorded 14 points and Jamarr Sanders contributed 13 points.

The first half of action was close with neither team able to make a run to break away. At halftime, the Toros held the lead 58-57.

RGV was able to steal the 67-65 lead early in the third quarter on a layup from Chris Johnson. Austin fought back to tie the game three times during the third quarter. At the end of the third, the Vipers were up 82-76.

Early in the fourth quarter, the Rice, Jr. knocked down a three-pointer to help the Vipers brake away with an 88-76 advantage. A shot from behind the arc by Rice, JR. gave RGV their biggest lead of the night, 104-89 with 4:51 remaining. Austin fought back and was able to close their margin of deficit, but the Vipers claimed the 118-110 win.
