
Maine's Shelvin Mack Signs with Atlanta Hawks

NEW YORK, March 6, 2013 - The Atlanta Hawks today signed Maine Red Claws guard Shelvin Mack for the 20th GATORADE Call-Up of the 2012-13 NBA Development League season. Mack joins 117 NBA players with NBA D-League experience currently on NBA rosters.
Mack (6-2, 215, Butler) has played in 23 games for the Red Claws this season, averaging 20.1 points, good for third in the NBA D-League, to go with 7.7 assists (second in the League), 4.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 40.3 minutes. A 2013 NBA D-League All-Star, Mack scored eight points and dished out 12 assists for the Prospects Team in Houston. Mack has recorded seven point-assist double-doubles, including a season-high 36 points and 10 assists on Feb. 22 in a 119-111 loss to the Bakersfield Jam.
Originally selected by the Washington Wizards in the second round (34th overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft, Mack returns to the NBA following two previous GATORADE Call-Ups this season to the Wizards and Philadelphia 76ers. In 11 NBA games this season, Mack averaged 3.5 points, 2.2 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 13.5 minutes. A 75-game NBA veteran, Mack owns career averages of 3.6 points, 2.1 assists, 1.4 rebounds and 12.4 minutes.
Mack is expected to join the Hawks today and be available tonight when the team hosts the 76ers.
