Legends Announce Unique Jersey Night Partnership with Relay for Life

FRISCO, TX (March 6, 2013) - When Donnie Nelson announced the name of the Dallas Mavericks NBA Development League team, he commented "The name 'Texas Legends' is a celebration of those who've sacrificed greatly and achieved the honorable." On Saturday, March 16, as the Legends take the court against the Santa Cruz Warriors, they will honor an event that exemplifies just that: American Cancer Society- Relay For LifeR.
"For 100 years, the American Cancer Society has been working to save lives, and create more birthdays," said Maria Clark, Society Regional Vice President. "We're determined to make this cancer's last century. We are grateful to have the support of the Texas Legends and Credit Union of Texas."
The Legends will wear customized jerseys celebrating Relay For Life, uniquely branded with both the Legends and Relay For Life logo, along with presenting sponsor, Credit Union of Texas logo. Select jerseys will be available through a silent auction during the game, along with the raffling of unique Legends items with all proceeds going to Relay For Life. As part of the festivities of the night, select individuals from Relay For Life and Credit Union of Texas will be recognized as "Legends of the Night."
"Credit Union of Texas is excited to partner with the Texas Legends for many reasons, but most of all for the common desire to give back to the communities that we serve," said Derek Beard, Vice President of Sales and Service. "Our own Relay For Life team has previously raised and donated over $18,000 to this great cause and we look forward to doubling that this year."
The Legends face the Golden State Warriors affiliate at 7 pm. The game will be broadcast on TXA21. Following the game, fans can go to Quaker Steak and Lube (5584 SH 121 Plano, TX) with their ticket stubs and Quaker Steak and Lube will donate 10% of the order to Relay For Life.
