Rookie Goaltender Cody Reichard Loaned to Houston

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced that rookie goaltender Cody Reichard (RIGH-card) has been loaned to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League on a professional tryout agreement (PTO).

Reichard, who turns 26 tomorrow, is 13-8-5 in 27 games with the Thunder this season. He has collected one shutout, a .911 save percentage and 2.64 goals against average.

The 5-foot-11 and 165 pound netminder was named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week on Dec. 11. His performance in December, which included a 4-1-3 record and .935 save percentage, helped him finish runner up for Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month and Reebok Hockey ECHL Rookie of the Month honors.

Reichard previously had a decorated four year career in college in Oxford, Ohio at Miami University (NCAA). He went 53-24-9 in 92 career games for the RedHawks with a 2.10 goals against average, .912 save percentage and tied the program record with 12 career shutouts.

The Thunder is currently carrying two goaltenders, Olivier Roy and Tyler Bunz, on the active roster. Both goaltenders have been assigned to the Thunder by Edmonton.

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12.
