D-Fenders Knock off Mad Ants

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders knocked off the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 113-106 at Toyota Sports Center on Saturday night.

Trailing to the Mad Ants 62-50 at the half and falling behind by as many as 16 points in the third quarter, the D-Fenders went on a 21-10 run to enter the final period down 85-83. Beginning the fourth quarter on a 22-9 run, the D-Fenders (7-12) jumped ahead by as many as 11 points and remained in control down the stretch to secure the win.

Elijah Millsap (32 points [10-19 FG], 6 rebounds, 3 steals) registered the most points scored in a game by a D-Fender this season, Gary Flowers (30 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks) finished with his season-high in points scored, and Courtney Fortson (8 points, 14 assists) was just one assist shy of tying the franchise record for assists in Los Angeles' win. Additionally, Ronald Dupree dropped in 14 points, Zach Andrews finished with an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Jarrid Famous scored 10 points for the D-Fenders, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

Fort Wayne (11-12) saw three players record double-doubles, paced by Luke Harangody (31 points, 12 rebounds), Anthony Harris (16 points, 12 assists) and Indiana Pacers assignee Miles Plumlee (15 points, 12 rebounds). Anthony Richardson also recorded 19 points and Tony Mitchell contributed 17 points along with six assists for the Mad Ants.

After playing three games over the past four days, the D-Fenders will have only one day to prepare for a contest against the Erie BayHawks (NBA Affiliate: New York Knicks), returning to the hardwood on Monday, January 21st at home in El Segundo. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
