Knights Asking Fans to Name "All Knights Stadium Team"

(Fort Mill, SC) - Over the past 23 seasons, 770 different players have called Knights Stadium home. Prominent Major Leaguers like Jim Thome, Manny Ramirez, Luis Castillo, Cliff Floyd, Brian Giles, and others, all wore the Knights uniform over the course of that 23-year span. Now, through the team's official website and Facebook page, the Charlotte Knights are set to give fans a chance to name the club's "All Knights Stadium Team", which will be revealed on Opening Day, Thursday, April 11 at Knights Stadium -- the final opener in the stadium's rich 23-year history.
Each week, beginning on Monday, January 21, and running through March 31, the team will release the finalists at each position and fans will have their chance to voice their opinion. The first crop of finalists released will feature the top five managers in Knights Stadium history. The voting will take place online at www.charlotteknights.com beginning on January 21. The poll can be found at the bottom right-hand corner of the Knights official website.
All infield positions will be represented on the team, as well as a utility/DH spot. Those positions will be voted on only at www.charlotteknights.com . For the final three weeks of the voting (March 11, March 18, and March 25), voting will be done exclusively through a poll on the team's official Facebook page. Those positions (outfield, relief pitcher, and starting pitcher) will be tallied through the team's social media page only.
The "All Knights Stadium Team" roster will consist of the following:
Manager (January 21-27)
Catcher (January 28-February 3)
First Baseman (February 4-10)
Second Baseman (February 11-17)
Third Baseman (February 18-24)
Shortstop (February 25-March 3)
Utility/DH (March 4-10)
Outfielder (March 11-17)
Outfielder (March 11-17)
Outfielder (March 11-17)
Relief Pitcher (March 18-24)
Relief Pitcher (March 18-24)
Starting Pitcher (March 25-31)
Starting Pitcher (March 25-31)
At the end of each week, the votes will be tallied, and on Opening Day, Thursday, April 11 at Knights Stadium, the All-Knights Stadium Team will be announced during a special pre-game ceremony.
