Elmira has won two in a row against the Cyclones thanks to an overtime win at home on October 27 and a 4-3 triumph in Cincinnati on December 27. Goalie Maxime Clermont has been a key player in the Jackals' success against the Cyclones with 58 combined saves in winning both of his starts. 1/16 at Kalamazoo - 7:00 p.m., Home vs. KAL 0-0-0, Away vs. KAL 0-0-0

Wednesday begins the four game series between Elmira and Kalamazoo this season. It's the only visit the Jackals pay to the Wings this season, but three match ups follow in Elmira in February. Kalamazoo has won the North Division in each of its first three seasons in the ECHL but enters this week in fifth place in its division and holding the lowest win percentage in the Eastern Conference at .425. The Jackals are 2-3-1 all-time in Kalamazoo and won their most recent trip there, 4-3, on December 17, 2011. Louie Caporusso shined in that game with four points (3G, 1A) and scored the first of two Jackals hat tricks last season. Current Jackals goalie Maxime Clermont was in net for Kalamazoo that night and stopped 30 of 34 shots, including a Dustin Gazley penalty shot. Former Jackals goalie Joel Martin is Kalamazoo's mainstay in goal this season with a 14-15-3 record. He has started 32 of his team's 38 games.

1/18 vs. Trenton - 7:05 p.m., Home vs. TRE 2-1-0, Away vs. TRE 2-1-1

The Jackals and Titans face off nine times over the final half of the season and Friday will be the first of those. The Jackals won the most recent meeting with a come from behind 4-3 triumph in Elmira on January 6. Elmira has won two in a row at home against Trenton and is 23-13-3 all-time at home against the Titans/Devils. Trenton enters this week winless in its last seven games (0-5-2) and will begin its three game slate by hosting Reading on Wednesday morning. Trenton has had both its leading scorers, Andy Bombach and Marcel Noebels, called up to the American Hockey League following the end of the National Hockey League lockout. Stephen Schultz, who is averaging a point per game against the Jackals this season, is Trenton's active leader in scoring with 29 points (12G, 17A) in 30 games. Recapping Last Week:

1/11 vs. Evansville: OTW 3-2

Elmira closed out the first half of its 2012-13 schedule with a dramatic win in its first ever home game against Evansville. The IceMen leaped out to a 2-0 lead on early goals in the first and second period. The Jackals had more shots on goal but Evansville netminder Paul Karpowich held the Jackals at bay for most of the first half of the game. Artem Demkov finally broke through when he swatted in a rebound after Karpowich stopped his initial shot on a breakaway. The game went into the third period with the Jackals needing a tying goal, and they got it from their all-star - Dustin Gazley. The Jackals were relentless in their pressure to win in regulation and posted 16 total shots in the third against six for Evansville. Marc Cheverie kept it tied for the Jackals and allowed for some heroics from an unlikely source. Rookie defenseman Ben Blood hadn't recorded a point in his first 24 games with the Jackals, but couldn't have picked a better time for his first pro goal. Working off a pass from Louie Caporusso on the right wing, Blood lifted a wrist shot past Karpowich 1:55 into the extra session.

1/12 vs. Evansville: OTL 3-4

In each of its prior two wins against Evansville, Elmira had to come back from a 2-0 deficit. Last Saturday the Jackals got off to a better start but couldn't turn it into a victory. Benjamin Dieude-Fauvle potted his first goal of the season 8:41 into the contest and gave the Jackals the 1-0 lead. Evansville battled back with a pair of early second period goals to claim the lead, but saw it slip away as the Jackals battled back. Louie Caporusso knotted the score at two with his eighth of the season then Jean Bourbeau put the Jackals back in the driver's seat at 9:44 with a shorthanded tally. Maxime Clermont had 22 saves through two period to help Elmira go into the third with the one goal lead. Evansville quickly found the equalizer with Todd Robinson potting a wrist shot from the left wing with 3:05 gone by. The teams traded opportunities through the rest of regulation but neither could capitalize and the teams went to overtime for the second straight night. This time around Evansville only needed 38 seconds to earn the bonus point as Josh Beaulieu netted his 15th of the season.
