Recap of Last Week
The Road Warriors played two home games last weekend against South Division rival, the Orlando Solar Bears. The Road Warriors saw their biggest crowds of the season enter the BI-LO Center this weekend. On Friday, 4,001 fans witnessed Greenville's domination over Orlando by a score of 9-3. Four players notched career highs as well as two team highs on Friday. Those markers can be found under streaks and stats. The Road Warriors would top Friday's attendance again on Saturday with a vast crowd of 5,092. The Road Warriors continued to tame the Solar Bears with a 5-2 victory. Much like the previous night, Greenville went into the third period with a one goal lead. Once again, the Road Warriors dominated the third with two goals to complete the weekend sweep over Orlando.
Week Ahead & Battle for the South Division
Greenville hosts Gwinnett next Thursday night at 7 p.m. This is the first of three games in five days against the Gladiators. The Road Warriors are currently three points behind Gwinnett who plays Tuesday in North Charleston against the Stingrays. First place in the South Division is on the line with the three upcoming tilts. Throwback Thursday returns and features $2 beers, hot dogs, pretzels and fountain drinks presented by 93.3 The Planet. Students who present their Student ID at the Box Office receive $5 tickets in the Value Green section. Greenville travels to North Charleston on Friday night for a 7:05 p.m. matchup with the Stingrays. The Road Warriors returns home on Saturday for another game against Gwinnett at 7 p.m. The first 1,500 fans receive a Road Warriors Car Flag presented 92.5 WESC and Fox Carolina! Streaks and Stats
- Brendan Connolly recorded his first ever four-goal game on Friday.
-Jordie Johnston and Marc-Olivier Vallerand notched their first four assist game on Friday.
-Danny Hobbs collected his first multi-point game on Friday with one goal and three assists.
-On Friday night, Brandon Wong scored his 150th point in a Road Warriors uniform with his three point night as well as his 70th goal.
-Greenville's six goal third period on Friday was the most goals the Road Warriors have ever scored in one period.
Transactions
The Road Warriors acquired Zach Cohen from the Bakersfield Condors on Thursday. For full story click here.
Greenville had two players assigned to the AHL teams this past week. Forward Andrew Yogan was called up to the Connecticut Whale by the New York Rangers. Marc-Olivier Vallerand was loaned to the Norfolk Admirals, the NHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks.
