Hoffman Estates, IL. The professional indoor soccer team Chicago Mustangs (5-2-0) beat the Rio Grande Valley Flash (3-3-0) in a nail-biting game that ended with a final score of 10-9, at the Grand Sports Arena in Hoffman Estates.

With the victory, the Mustangs remain undefeated at home. "There is no easy rival, every game is a new challenge", said Jesús Flores, Mustang's goalkeeper. "This game was a real test against a team filled with great professional soccer players", was Mustang's forward Omar Tapia's comment. Outstanding performance by Nestor Hernández who said that, "Teamwork was the key to win a game that was anything but easy."

Another tough beginning of a game for the Mustangs who saw the Flash scoring twice in the first 3 minutes of the match. The Mustangs woke up and with goals from Hernández (2), Velázquez (2) and Piñón ended the first quarter with a 5-3 advantage.

The second quarter did not decrease in intensity and 3 uncontested goals put the visiting team ahead for the second time. Excellent coaching by "Chicho" Cuevas brought back the intensity in the Mustangs who tied the game with a goal from Hernández at the minute 6:54 and put the scoreboard back in the Mustangs' favor with goals by Corona (11:11) and Velázquez (14:23). The Mustangs did not trail again for the remainder of the game.

The last two quarters were dominated by both teams' defense with the Flash trying to come back but a goal from Hernández with 6 minutes remaining in the game was the difference at the end.

The Mustangs remain in second place of the central division, a game behind Dallas.

Raymond M. Kincaid, Hoffman Estates' Trustee was in charge of the kick-off ceremony. The fans that attended the game went home happy after seeing a great game and after been treated to listen a couple of songs from singer, Yenia's new CD.
