Max Reavis Named ECAC East Rookie of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - After leading the Beacons to a pair of victories over conference foes,Max Reavis (Omaha, Neb.) was named ECAC East Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday evening.

Reavis becomes the second consecutive UMass Boston rookie to receive the award, after freshman Peter MacIntyre (Norfolk, Mass.) was selected for the honor last week.

The freshman first-line center earned the selection after finishing with a goal and two assists to help the Beacons to their best start in over 20 years. He recorded two assists Friday night, including the second assist on the game-winning goal in overtime against the University of New England. Saturday he scored his second collegiate goal in the Beacons 5-2 win over Southern Maine.

After not playing in two of the Beacons first six games, Reavis has tallied points in four straight. In eight games this season, Reavis has two goals and seven assists and a +2 rating.

The award is the first for Reavis in his career.
