Charge Acquire Dominique Johnson

The Canton Charge have acquired guard Dominique Johnson from the available player pool, the team announced today. Per team and league policy, terms of the contract were not released. Johnson's acquisition does not count towards Canton's waiver preference position following Kevin Jones' call-up to the Cleveland Cavaliers on November 29th.

Johnson, 25, was in training camp with the Santa Cruz Warriors this season and has two years of experience in the NBA Development League. In 2011-12 with the Texas Legends, he played in 45 games (32 starts) and averaged 12.9 points on .431 shooting with 4.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 30.4 minutes per game. In his rookie year in the D-League in 2010-11, he played in 27 games (11 starts) with the Legends and averaged 12.5 points on .494 shooting with 3.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.8 steals in 25.1 minutes per game. Johnson played two years at Division II Azusa Pacific University, playing in 72 games (70 starts) and averaging 17.2 points on .489 shooting with 3.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 28.7 minutes per game.

The Canton roster now stands at 10. The Charge take the court again with a pair of division road games this weekend, beginning with a matchup against the Springfield Armor on Saturday, December 8th at 8:00 p.m.
