Bandits' owner, Randy Sanders, understands to process of building professional sports teams. " There is a very defined timeline that we try to following to get ready for the season to make sure we do not overlook any detail. We are on schedule and things are going great in San Angelo."
The football on the field is only part of the equation. "We continue to look for the best talent available that best fits what we are trying to accomplish here in San Angelo and that is to win a championship, stated Bandits Head Coach Chris Simpson. I believe we are ahead of where I anticipated us being at this time. Choosing players and a coaching staff is like fitting pieces to the puzzle. We have part of the picture completed however we still have a lot of work to do before the end of the year."
To date, the Bandits have 13 players signed to their training camp roster and look to sign a dozen more before the Christmas holidays. Also, the organization will be announcing its coaching staff within the next couple of weeks in addition to releasing profiles on signed players.
General Manager Bill Farmer has hit the ground running to develop partnerships within the local business community. Bill said " The corporate community of San Angelo has been very positive about the team coming back to San Angelo. They understand the value of having professional sports in the community to help attract business."
Added Simpson, "I like what we are doing as a team in the front office. That is where it all starts. Randy, Bill and I are very supportive each other's efforts. That is where the foundation of this franchise is formed."
