Royals Sign Forward Brandon Blandina

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed forward Brandon Blandina to an ECHL contract. In a separate transaction previously completed, the Royals loaned forward Evan Barlow to Hershey.

This marks the second stint this year with the Royals for Blandina, a first year pro from Centennial, Colorado. The Royals claimed Blandina's ECHL rights after he was waived by the Elmira Jackals on November 15. Reading signed Blandina on November 16, and he appeared in two games with the Royals without registering any points or penalty minutes. He was released from his contract with Reading on November 20. Barlow, a fourth year pro from Strathmore, Alberta, was acquired in a trade with the San Francisco Bulls on November 15. Barlow has played four games with the Royals, registering ten points (4g-6a) and playing to a plus-eleven (+11). Barlow picked up an assist and played to a plus-one (+1) in the Bears' 4-2 win this evening over the Toronto Marlies.

The Royals head to Greenville, South Carolina, where they will face the Greenville Road Warriors at the Bi-Lo Center on Wednesday, November 28 @ 7:00 pm. Wednesday's game will be televised locally in Berks County on BCTV courtesy of Boscov's Travel and Apple Vacations . The Game Night Broadcast kicks off at 6:30 pm on ESPN Radio (1240 am and 98.5 fm).
