St. John's, Newfoundland - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the St. John's IceCaps 2-1 at Mile One Centre on Wednesday Night. Cedrick Desjardins stopped 29 of 30 shots for his second win in his second start of the 2012-2013 season while Steve Quailer notched the game-winner.

The IceCaps opened the scoring at 19:50 of the opening frame on a goal by Carl Klingberg. After receiving the puck from Ben Maxwell, Klingberg dangled into the Hamilton zone and snapped a shot under the crossbar behind Hamilton Bulldogs starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins.

The Bulldogs tied the game at 12:39 of the second stanza on a goal by Mike Blunden. Brendan Gallagher danced into the St. John's zone and outwaited the IceCaps defenceman, then centred a feed to Blunden who batted the puck past St. John's IceCaps starting goaltender Mark Dekanich.

The 'Dogs took the lead at 19:36 of the second period on Quailer's second goal of the season. Morgan Ellis missed the net with a shot and the puck bounced off the glass behind the net and came out to Quailer who tapped it in behind Dekanich.
