Tonight is the fist of 16 scheduled meeting between the Jackals and Titans this season, and first of eight at First Arena. The Jackals went 9-5-0 against the Titans last season which included a 5-2-0 mark at First Arena. Each team is looking to snap its losing skid. The Titans have dropped six (0-5-1) consecutive contests with five of those losses at the hands of the Reading Royals. Elmira, meanwhile, has not won in its last five tries (0-4-1) with each of the losses coming on the road. Keep an eye on the battle between Elmira's top-ranked power play (29.3%) and Trenton's fourth-ranked penalty kill (84.4%).
A pair of Jackals skaters have a chance to reach a career milestone tonight. Dustin Gazley needs one point to reach 100 in his ECHL career while Kyle Bushee is three away from the century mark. Gazley has 31 goals and 68 assists in his time with the Jackals and needs just 28 points to pass Benoit Doucet for fourth on the Jackals' all-time ECHL scoring list. Bushee, a fifth-year pro, has 23 goals and 74 assists to his credit and currently leads Jackals defensemen in goals (2) and is second in points (6). Bushee is on a current pace that would net him 39 points this season and give him a new career high.
Mark your calendars! The Jackals are back on First Arena ice on Saturday, November 17, 2012 to take on the Trenton Titans at 7:05 p.m. The Jackals are hosting a food drive to benefit Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
