
Time Warner Cable to Broadcast 12 Checkers Games in 2012-13

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte Checkers and Time Warner Cable announced today that 12 Checkers home games this season will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable digital channel 520 as part of their three-year partnership, which began in 2010-11.
Special Events Channel 520 is available to all Time Warner Cable digital cable subscribers throughout the Carolinas.
The complete broadcast schedule for the 2012-13 season includes games against nine different opponents and is as follows:
Sunday, Nov. 4 vs. Chicago Wolves (3 p.m.)
Saturday, Nov. 24 vs. Oklahoma City Barons (7 p.m.)
Saturday, Dec. 1 vs. Rockford IceHogs (7 p.m.)
Saturday, Dec. 15 vs. Houston Aeros (noon)
Friday, Dec. 21 vs. Peoria Rivermen (7 p.m.)
Friday, Jan. 25 vs. Abbotsford Heat (7 p.m.)
Saturday, Jan. 26 vs. Abbotsford Heat (noon)
Saturday, Feb. 9 vs. San Antonio Rampage (7 p.m.)
Saturday, March 9 vs. Houston Aeros (7 p.m.)
Friday, March 15 vs. Texas Stars (7 p.m.)
Saturday, April 6 vs. Milwaukee Admirals (7:30 p.m.)
Friday, April 12 vs. Texas Stars (7 p.m.)
Jason Shaya, in his sixth season as the voice of the Checkers, will lead the television broadcast, while former NHL player and current senior vice president of hockey business operations Derek Wilkinson will lend his expertise as pre-game and intermission analyst.
The Checkers (6-2-1) have concluded their nine-game season-opening road trip and will host the Chicago Wolves for the home opener on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at www.ticketmaster.com and the Time Warner Cable Arena box office.
