ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades are gearing up for their inaugural "Sticks and Staches." Kickoff this Friday (October 26) when they play host to the South Carolina Stingrays at Germain Arena. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Everblades are partnering with Mustache Me of SWFL in support of 21st Century CARE and their mission to provide screenings, education, and recourses for the men of our community receiving treatment and also for preventative care.

"Mustache Me SWFL is very happy to have teamed up with the Florida Everblades," said Jaimee Thompson with Abby Services in Home Care for Seniors. "This event is a great way for our community to raise money for such an important cause and learn how important early detection, screening and awareness is for men."

Statistics show that, on average, men die at a younger age than women - the average life expectancy for men is five years fewer than women. That said, despite trailing the women's health movement, things are beginning to change, but much more progress needs to be made to close the gap between the state of men's and women's health. Established taboos and barriers relating to men's health are gradually being broken down.

The Everblades will help carry the message to the local community throughout the event and aim to raise as much money as possible through ticket sales. A portion ($9.00) of every ticket sold through this special offer will go directly back to 21st Century Care and the efforts or Mustache Me of SWFL. Several Everblades players will be growing mustaches during the month of November to show their support of this great cause.

In addition, the first 500 fans to walk through the gate swill receive a free mustache courtesy of 21st Century Care to promote men's health awareness.

To purchase tickets through the special offer, those interested must contact Scott Bogen of the Florida Everblades at 239-948-7825, ext. 1104, or by e-mail at scottbog@floridaeverblades.com.
