Elmira Jackals News Release

ELMIRA, N.Y. - October 9, 2012 - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they have entered into a two-year agreement with the Pembrook Pines Media Group to have their games carried on WEHH AM 1600 and FM 93.9. Jackals games will also be streamed online at www.1600WEHH.com. The Jackals also announced today that Ray Schmitt has been hired as the director of broadcasting and media relations for the team and First Arena.

"The new partnership between the Elmira Jackals and Pembrook Pines Media Group is something that we are very proud of. Our fans will be treated to high-quality and easily-accessible broadcasts of Jackals hockey for the next two years," said Jackals general manager Matt Hufnagel.

Under the agreement, WEHH AM 1600 and FM 93.9, along with www.1600WEHH.com, will be the exclusive home for Jackals radio broadcasts. The station will carry all 72 regular season games and all playoff games. Live coverage will begin ten minutes prior to game time with "The Elmira Jackals Pre-Game Show" and "Jackals Post-Game" will conclude each contest.

Jackals fans also have the opportunity, for the sixth consecutive season, to view game broadcasts live online through America One. The pay-per-view service offers options to purchase on a game-by-game basis, a monthly pass, and a season-long pass. Fans can even watch the Jackals when they are on the go because America One can stream games to your mobile device. It is compatible with iOS and Android systems. This year Schmitt will step behind the microphone for his sixth season of ECHL hockey. He replaces Eric Levine who took a job with the Springfield Falcons as manager of media and community relations this past summer. Schmitt, 27, comes to Elmira having previously worked for the Johnstown Chiefs (2007 to 2010) and the Greenville Road Warriors (2010 to 2012).

"I consider myself extremely lucky to have the opportunity to broadcast Elmira Jackals hockey, and work with the dedicated media that covers this team. I have been to this building many times as a visiting broadcaster and was always impressed by how well Jackals fans support their team. Now I am looking forward to enjoying many great seasons of hockey along with that fan base," said Schmitt.

In addition to listening to Schmitt call all of the Jackals action, fans can follow him on twitter at @radio_ray for breaking news and additional insights on the Jackals. Also keep an eye out for videos from the road, tours of rinks around the ECHL, and more from Schmitt throughout the season. The videos can be found on the Jackals' YouTube channel under the name jackalshockeyechl .
