Wichita Thunder News Release
Wichita, KS (September 20th) - The Wichita Thunder of the Central Hockey League are very excited to announce that they will be partnering with Restore Hope Inc., the Fundamental Learning Center and Account Recovery Specialists Inc. to present Bring Back the Joy Night during the Thunder game on Sunday, March 3rd against the Missouri Mavericks.
Restore Hope Inc. is a non-profit group working to restore Joyland Amusement Park. Special Joyland-themed jerseys will be worn and auctioned off with all net proceeds going to Restore Hope Inc. There will be a carnival on the concourse for families to enjoy. Restore Hope Inc. will also have special "Bring Back Joyland" merchandise available. The entire evening will be dedicated to the past and future of one of Wichita's most-treasured places.
"We would like to thank ARSI for this amazing night with the Wichita Thunder," commented Alex East, founder and president of Restore Hope Inc. "We have a lot of exciting plans to make this a night people won't want to miss! Joyland Restoration Project's goal is not only to restore Joyland, but make it one of the state's premier attractions. Joyland will grow over the years with several expansions to draw people back again and again. Our goal is to fill the seats of INTRUST Bank Arena with not only people, but fond memories of what Joyland was and will become."
The vision of Restore Hope Inc. is to restore Joyland while implementing new restaurants, scenery, and a few new rides to the area. Joyland Amusement Park will be run as a non-profit with all its profits staying inside the park for payroll, bills, maintenance, expansions, and other things of that nature for the first few years. After the park grows and has a higher attendance, Restore Hope Inc. will begin to make donations to other local non-profits that seek to benefit our community.
Fans will be encouraged to go online and purchase tickets, but can also contact Chris Ross at the Thunder office as well. Tickets can be purchased online at www.joylandrestprationproject.org. Tickets in the Blue, Yellow and Green sections will available at a special price with $3 from each ticket sold in the Blue and Yellow and $1 from each ticket sold in the Green sections going back to Restore Hope Inc.
