Great Falls Voyagers News Release
GREAT FALLS - The Great Falls Voyagers championship run came to an end three wins short as the Missoula Osprey defeated them 4-2 Sunday night at Centene Stadium. The loss eliminated the Voyagers, who finished the season 41-38 in the regular season and playoffs, and set up a matchup between the Osprey and the Ogden Raptors in the Pioneer League Championship Series.
Yoimer Camacho got his fourth start of the season for the Voyagers after dominating them to the tune of 2 earned runs in 16 innings all year. He picked up right where he left off with five innings allowing only one run while striking out six. JC Casey was very strong for three innings but allowed two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth before being lifted for Ryan Bollinger. Bollinger finished the fifth and dealt through the eighth with 3.2 shutout innings.
Thomas McCarthy got the Voyagers on the board in the bottom of the fourth with a leadoff double and hit a solo home run in the sixth to cut the Missoula lead to 3-2, but Vince Spilker and Justin Thompson set the Voyagers down in order the last three innings in a row while Missoula added a key insurance run in the ninth for a 4-2 victory.
