
Gladiators Bring Back Defenseman Brookwell

The Gwinnett Gladiators have agreed to terms with defenseman Cody Brookwell for the 2012-13 season.
Brookwell earned a career best 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 63 games last season with the Gladiators. His +13 plus/minus rating led Gladiators defensemen in that category. He also appeared in four Kelly Cup Playoff games last year with Gwinnett.
The 6-foot-4, 225-pound defenseman began his professional career with Gwinnett in the 2010-11 season. Brookwell earned seven points (two goals, five assists) in 48 games with the Gladiators.
Before he began his professional career, the Calgary, Alberta, native played four seasons at the University of Denver from 2006-2010. He earned 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 136 career collegiate games with the Pioneers. Brookwell was named to the WCHA All-Academic Team in his senior season as he led the University of Denver in blocked shots.
The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League. All home games are played at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth, GA.
