Black Hawks Change Fan Fest Ticket Prices
July 20, 2012 - United States Hockey League (USHL) Waterloo Black Hawks
Waterloo, Iowa-Admission prices for the Waterloo Black Hawks' Fan Fest on Saturday, July 28th have been changed to $10 in advance and $15 on the day of the event, the team announced Friday.Highlighted by an inner-squad scrimmage, the evening will offer the chance for fans to see the Hawks in action before the team travels to Omsk, Russia in mid-August for the 2012 Junior Club World Cup. All funds raised from Fan Fest tickets and related activities will help make the international trip possible.
"This is the first Fan Fest we have ever done, and we want everyone to have a chance to enjoy it. By reducing the price to less than a normal game ticket, we hope that all Black Hawks fans see the value in attending to meet the newest members of our team," said Black Hawks president Doug Miller. "Because all proceeds are going to help us offset the costs of participating in the tournament, everyone who comes out to Fan Fest will be helping us take on the world."
Food will still be available during the event, however a meal will no longer be included with each ticket. More details from Monday's original Fan Fest announcement are included below:
The inner-squad tilt will include many of the players who will be Black Hawks this fall, joined by several top recruits from the Hawks' affiliate list. Leading 2011-2012 scorer Taylor Cammarata, recent Chicago Blackhawks draft pick Vince Hinostroza, and NHL prospect Ian McCoshen will be among the veterans who are skating. Expected rookies include Zach Stepan - drafted by the Nashville Predators in June, plus Justin Kloos and Jake Horton, who have each delivered impressive previews during brief stints in Waterloo. After the game, a seven-round shootout will be held, giving players the opportunity to show off their skills.
In addition to the scrimmage, those in attendance will have the opportunity to tour the Black Hawks' locker room before the game begins. Each visitor at Young Arena will receive a commemorative Fan Fest poster and be able to take the ice with the team to skate after the main event.
Limited quantities of new "Black Hawks vs. the World" souvenir t-shirts will also be on sale for the first time. A variety of additional activities will be conducted throughout the evening, highlighted by a special Chuck-a-Puck contest. Two winners will have the chance to choose the shooters participating for each team during the postgame shootout.
Locker room tours and other festivities begin at 5 PM, with the inner-squad game to begin at 6:15. For more information, call the Black Hawks at (319) 232-3444.
