Chandler Blasts Owls Past MarlinsJuly 13, 2012 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain) Forest City Owls
Chandler's hit was the only one allowed by Robinson over his seven innings of work. Prior to the 7th inning, he had allowed just one baserunner on a walk by Nick McQuail. Alex Close reached on Robinson's second walk with one out in the 7th inning, scoring on Chandler's bomb. Bryan Aanderud added an insurance run in the 8th inning with a two-out RBI double. Close then scored Aanderud with a base hit to make it 4-1 in favor of Forest City.
Luis Paula submitted his longest outing of the year. The Owls righty went six and one-third innings, allowing just five hits and one run. Paula walked only one and matched a season-high with five strikeouts, picking up his third win.
Adam Westmoreland ran into some trouble as the Marlins loaded the bases with no one out in the bottom of the 8th inning. Hunter Privette replaced his South Carolina teammate and silenced the potential rally with a double play and a strikeout, keeping Morehead City off the board. Jake Padgett pitched a scoreless 9th inning for his 6th save.
