Former Mustangs Honored by AFLJuly 9, 2012 - Arena Football League (AFL) Milwaukee Mustangs
Mullen, ranked 22 on the prestigious Ironmen list. He played eight seasons in the AFL and was a member of four ArenaBowl championship teams. With the Denver Dynamite in 1987, Mullen finished second in the league in scoring and third in interceptions. As a member of the 1990 Detroit Drive squad, he led the league in scoring and set the AFL record for most career ArenaBowl receiving yards with 465. An AFL Hall of Famer, Mullen closed his historic career with the Mustangs in 1995, catching 21 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns that season.
Compton began his excellent career as a First Team All-Arena selection as a rookie wide receiver/defensive back for the Dallas Texans in 1992. But in 1995, Compton moved to Milwaukee where he spent seven seasons with the Mustangs. Starring at both wide receiver and linebacker, he earned two first-team All-Arena selections and owns the franchise's single-game records for both receiving yards (220) and touchdowns (6). His best season came in 2001, when he caught 101 passes for 1,484 yards and 33 touchdowns and was honored with the "Built Ford Tough" Man of the Year Award.
