Rio Grande Valley Magic News Release

McALLEN, Texas---- The Rio Grande Valley Magic surrendered a 19-point halftime lead to the West Texas Roughnecks by a score of 62-61 on Saturday night at the State Farm Arena.

Second half turnovers plagued the Magic on offense as the Roughnecks capitalize on them for touchdowns. Wide receiver Hakim Gadiga caught seven passes for 93 yards and quarterback Devin Dominguez threw for 221 yards and four touchdown passes.

Both teams exchanged touchdowns during the second half but it was the Roughnecks linemen Justin Child who recovered a fumble late in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach for the Magic. Ryan Lincoln led the Magic with 198 all-purpose yards and had a touchdown in the process. Danny Young had ten receptions for 98 yards with three touchdowns.

With the loss, the Magic fall to 5-4 in the season and a possible tie for first place pending the outcome of the result in the game in Amarillo. The Roughnecks improve to 5-5 in the season.

The Magic will have their next home game on Saturday, June 30, 2012, as they will host the Laredo Rattlesnakes at the State Farm Arena with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. Season and individual tickets are available by calling (956) 905-5401 or visiting a ticket master outlet.
