Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Lookouts offense exploded for seven runs in the first two innings and never looked back in a 7-3 win over the Huntsville Stars in Sunday afternoon action at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts wasted very little time getting an early lead over the Stars. In the bottom of the first, Jake Lemmerman reached first on a one-out walk and advanced to second on a subsequent J.T. Wise single. Last night's hero, Blake Smith, continued his hot-streak by blasting a Kyle Heckathorn (2-3) offering over the right field wall to give Chattanooga a 3-0 lead.

The runs kept flowing for the Lookouts in the second frame. Lookouts starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi got the rally started by drawing a walk. Back-to-back singles from Nick Buss and Jake Lemmerman loaded the bases. Wise then reached on an infield single to bring Eovaldi home. Smith drove home the second run of the inning by hitting a sacrifice fly to left field. Travis Denker then delivered the big hit by nailing a two-RBI double to augment the Lookouts' lead, 7-0.

Both teams failed to score until the top of the eighth, when Huntsville finally scored their first runs of the game. Hunter Morris hit and RBI double and Jason Jaramillio contributed with an RBI single to highlight the three-run inning for the Stars. Steven Ames, however, came into the game and recorded the final four outs to pick up his second save of the season.

Nathan Eovaldi (2-2), who pitched before and after the one-hour and eight minute rain delay, went five shutout innings to earn the win.

The Chattanooga Lookouts and Huntsville Stars will continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
