Reading Fightin Phils News Release
(Reading, Pa.)---Tonight's Reading Phillies game against the Erie SeaWolves was officially sold out by game time with a crowd of 9,091. Only standing room only tickets remained for the night's contest. The sellout crowd is the R-Phils' first of the 2012 season.
"We are pumped that tonight was a sell out!" said R-Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. "Ticket sales for this season are very strong with the Baseballtown All-Star Game on July 11 leading the charge. Many of our games this season are selling ahead of our normal pace, though. It certainly does not hurt to have the best R-Phils team in over a decade that is loaded with most of the Phillies top prospects."
Friday evening's game featured the first fireworks display of the season thanks to Spring Ridge Dental. It was also TriCounty Area Chamber night at America's Classic Ballpark. From now until the end of the season, there will be 29 total dazzling fireworks shows thanks to various sponsors. Following this current homestand, the R-Phils will be holding fireworks shows thanks to Vertex Mechanical on Friday, May 18 and UGI Utilities on Saturday, May 19.
With the first sellout of the season, tickets are moving quickly for some of this season's other top promotions including the Baseballtown All-Star Classic Game on Wednesday, July 11. Ticket sales are also quite brisk for three of the R-Phils most "unique" give-away dates: the Vance Worley "Vanimal" Garden Gnome on Wednesday, July 25, presented by CJ's Tire and Automotive Services, the Carlos Ruiz "Chooching" Train on Tuesday, August 14 thanks to FirstEnergy, and the Harry Kalas Talking Bobblehead on Monday, August 27 courtesy of Unique Pretzels.
"With tickets selling the way they are for this season, the R-Phils remind all fans to purchase your tickets well in advance of your desired game whenever possible," added Hunsicker.
Tickets for all 2012 regular season home games, as well as all Baseballtown All-Star Classic events, can be purchased online at www.RPhils.com, by phone at 610-370-BALL, and in-person at the R-Phils Ticket Office at FirstEnergy Stadium. The 2012 season featuring the Baseballtown All-Star Classic at America's Classic Ballpark is presented by Pepsi.
