Heat vs Marlies Game 2 Preview

Toronto, ON - The Abbotsford Heat will look to extend their series lead to two games tonight at Ricoh Coliseum as they face the Toronto Marlies (Toronto Maple Leafs) in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals. After the Heat's 3-1 win on Tuesday night the Marlies will try to earn a split in this opening pair before travelling to the West Coast for Games 3, 4 & *5 (*if necessary) at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.
The Heat enter tonight's action having compiled 11 wins in a row, while the Marlies had their three-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday night. Abbotsford's last regulation loss suffered was on March 24th when the San Antonio Rampage beat the Heat 6-1, since then the club has 12 wins and a shootout loss.
Danny Taylor and Max Reinhart stole the show in Game 1 on Tuesday night as the red-hot net-minder stopped 31 of 32 shots, and the new professional scored his third goal and recorded his first assist in just his fourth game with the Heat. Taylor has won nine straight starts and has allowed just seven goals on 112 shots over four Calder Cup playoff games.
The Heat remain the only professional hockey team in Western Canada still in action, and one of just three professional teams still playing in Canada - the Marlies and St. John's IceCaps are the other two clubs still at it into the month of May.
