LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

FRIDAY, APRIL 25: Penguins 3, BEARS 4 (OT)...

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton twice battled back from deficits to force overtime, but it was Ryan Potulny firing home the power play goal at 2:57 of the extra session to give Hershey a 4-3 win on their home ice.

In his first game with the Penguins since Feb. 18, Eric Tangradi picked up a goal and an assist. Wilkes- Barre/Scranton found the back the net twice on the power play for the third straight game with Cal O'Reilly and Alex Grant recording the markers.

Brad Thiessen suffered his first loss of the postseason, making 18 saves on the night.

FRIDAY, APRIL 27: Penguins 1, BEARS 4...

Hershey's power play - just 1-for-11 in its three previous games - got untracked, scoring three times in a 4-1 victory at GIANT Center that knotted the series at two.

The Bears established a 2-0 cushion for the second straight night on power play goals by Cameron Schilling and Boyd Kane. Kane would score again 5-on-4 midway through the third to put the game out of reach for Wilkes- Barre/Scranton.

Jason Williams tallied the lone goal for the Penguins.

SATURDAY, APRIL 28 PENGUINS 2, Bears 1...

Two goals in a span of seven seconds in the later minutes of the second period were the difference for Wilkes- Barre/Scranton as they defeated Hershey, 2-1, to take the decisive Game Five of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal.

A scoreless tie was broken with 2:29 left in the middle frame when Cal O'Reilly potted a power play goal for the Penguins. On the ensuing face-off, Zach Sill was able to take advantage of a fortuitous carom off the corner boards to notch his second of the postseason.

Ryan Potulny pulled the Bears within one 23 seconds into the third period, but Brad Thiessen denied Hershey the rest of the way as part of his 18 saves in the contest.

WILLIAMS LEADING THE CHARGE...

Jason Williams has paced the Penguins in scoring this postseason with eight points (1g-7a). The only member of the team to record points in all five playoff games, Williams leads the league in power play assists (5), is tied for first in assists (7) and power play points (5) and is also tied for second in points overall (8).

ICE CHIPS...

Cal O'Reilly has already tripled his regular season goal production, having tallied three this postseason. All three have come on the man-advantage, making O'Reilly the AHL's top power play producer in the playoffs...Wilkes- Barre/Scranton outscored Hershey 12-4 in their three games at Mohegan Sun Arena and was a perfect 9-for-9 on the penalty kill at home...The Penguins limited the Bears to an average of 20 shots a game in their first round series.

The IceCaps dispatched the Syracuse Crunch in four games during their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal match- up, culminating with a 4-3 overtime win on Apr. 27 in St. John's.

In their inaugural season, the IceCaps went 43-25-5-3 during the regular season and took home the Atlantic Division Crown. Two of the top three scorers for St. John's came from the blueline corps as defensemen Paul Postma (13g-31a-44pts) and Jason DeSantis (11g-32a-43pts) ranked second and third on the team respectively. The IceCaps had the third-best power play in the league in 2011-12, clicking at 20.6%

The Penguins split the four-game season series against the IceCaps, going 2-2-0-0, as both teams winning a pair of games in the opposition's building.
