Barons to Face San Antonio in Western Conference Semifinals

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons will take on the San Antonio Rampage, AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, in the second round of the Calder Cup playoffs. The best-of-7 Western Conference semifinal series will start in Oklahoma City on Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m.

The Western Conference semifinals are a best-of-7 series played in a 2-3-2 format. The Barons regular season record of 45-22-4-5 and 99 points is the best in the Western Conference and will give Oklahoma City home ice advantage throughout playoff games against Western Conference opponents. Oklahoma City played an eight-game season series against the Rampage, going 4-4-0-0 in those games. The Barons won three of the first four contests, followed by the Rampage winning three of four. The teams also split the series with 2-2 records in their buildings. Five of the eight games in the series were decided by one goal and four of the wins in the series were done via shutout. Both Barons wins at home were shutouts. Yann Danis and David LeNeveu each had a shutout against the Rampage. Ryan Keller (3-2-5) and Mark Arcobello (0-5-5) shared the scoring lead for the Barons against the Rampage with five points.

The Barons are celebrating their appearance in the Western Conference semifinals by offering $1 draws of Bud and Bud Light at the home game on May 3. In addition, the first 2,000 fans through the doors will receive a FREE navy blue Barons playoff t-shirt.
