BURLINGTON, Iowa (4/16/12) - The Bees officially has its first standout player of the year. Outfielder Dusty Robinson was named the Midwest League's Player of the Week. Cedar Rapids Kernels pitcher, Austin Wood also received the Pitcher of the Week award.

Robinson is currently the main power hitter in the Bees lineup. The right-hander masher usually bats in the cleanup spot and leads the team in both home runs (4) and RBI (10). Robinson plays the corner outfield for the Bees when he is not acting as the designated hitter.

Robinson got off to a great start by driving in four on one swing with a grand slam in the first game of the year at Clinton. But Robinson wasn't done; in the second game of the season the slugger unleashed another home run that hit the scoreboard in left-centerfield at Ashford University Field.

Not only are the home runs flying off his bat, Robinson has sever extra-base hits this season in general. Of his twelve hits, one has gone for a double, two for a triple, and four more as dingers. He's currently hitting .308 with an on-base percentage of .400 and a .744 slugging percentage. His 1.144 OPS is third on the team as well.

In addition to his ten RBI, Robinson has also scored ten runs, walked five times, and stolen one base.

The Bees traveled to Wisconsin on Monday, but the first game was postponed. The Bees and Timber Rattlers will play two seven-inning games on Tuesday instead.

The Bees return Thursday for a six-game home stand. For tickets, call (319) 754 - 5705 or visit www.gobees. com for more information.
