Mad Ants Win Season Finale Over Dakota

FORT WAYNE, IN - In a game that ended in a scramble until the final buzzer sounded, the Mad Ants defeated the Dakota Wizards 99-98 in the final game of the regular season.

The first period saw 8 ties in a back and forth battle that ended tied up at 28 apiece. The lead changed 6 times in the second period as well, but the Mad Ants held a slight 2 points lead, 52-50, going into the locker rooms at the half. Stefhon Hannah had 15 first half points for the Wizards.

The Mad Ants maintained the lead throughout the third period and held on to a 6 point lead going into the final period of the game. The Wizards started the fourth period with 9-2 run to steal the lead and would eventually go up by 5 points with 5:00 left in the game. The final five minutes of the game was an all out battle and was tied up at 96 with just :30 left. Charles Garcia and Darnell Lazare hit some clutch free throws in the final seconds to seal the win for the Mad Ants.

Hannah led all scorers with 22 points for the Wizards. Marcus Dove finished with 20 points and Leo Lyons added 15 off of the bench.

The Mad Ants were led by Ron Howard who finished with 21 points. Garcia and Cameron Jones contributed off the bench with 18 and 15 respectively.
