D-Fenders Win Streak Snapped By Jam

BAKERSFIELD, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders fell 96-95 to the Bakersfield Jam on Friday night, snapping their seven-game win streak and marking only their second loss in 19 games.

After leading by six points with 1:47 left in the fourth quarter, Los Angeles (34-12) found itself up by two points before Bakersfield called a timeout with 17 seconds remaining. In the subsequent possession, Derrick Byars hit the eventual game-winning corner three-pointer with 7.9 seconds to go.

Five players finished in double-figures for Los Angeles, led by Elijah Millsap's season-high 31 points (4-6 3FG), 11 rebounds and five assists. Additionally, Andre Ingram tallied 14 points along with 6 assists, Otis George scored 14 points, Orien Greene posted 13 points to go with seven assists, and Jamario Moon dropped in 11 points to round out the D-Fenders in double-digits at the Jam Events Center.

Meanwhile, Bakersfield (27-18) was guided by Renaldo Major (18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks) and Jeremy Wise (16 points, 11 assists). Teammate Juan Pattillo, who left the game midway through the second quarter, tallied 15 points while Trey Johnson contributed 12 points in the Jam win.

The loss marks the end of the third win streak of seven games or more for the D-Fenders this season. Prior to the 2011-12 campaign, the longest win streak in franchise history was six games.

The D-Fenders, who have clinched home court advantage throughout the postseason, will try to even the season series at 4 wins apiece tomorrow against Jam at Toyota Sports Center. A limited number of tickets are still available for the matchup, and the game is available for viewing online through NBA Futurecast.
