Los Angeles' Courtney Fortson Signs with Houston Rockets

NEW YORK, March 17, 2012 - The Houston Rockets today signed guard Courtney Fortson for the 36th GATORADE Call-up of the 2011-12 NBA Development League season. Fortson joins more than 100 NBA players with NBA D-League experience currently on 2011-12 rosters.
Fortson returns to the NBA following a GATORADE Call-Up to the Los Angeles Clippers earlier this season. In four games with the Clippers, he averaged 4.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 11.2 minutes. He scored an NBA career high 13 points on Jan. 17 against the Utah Jazz.
In 29 games with the D-Fenders this season, Fortson averaged 17.0 points, 5.9 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 34.3 minutes. He is currently 14th in the NBA D-League in scoring, sixth in assists and second in steals.
Fortson is expected to join the Rockets today and be available this afternoon with the team plays the Clippers in Los Angeles.
