
Hart Joins Stacked Bullpen Corps

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- The Grand Prairie AirHogs continued to bolster their 2012 bullpen with the signing of righty Mike Hart.
After being selected in the 19 th round of the 2008 MLB Draft, the 25-year-old sp ent the first four seasons of his career with the Oakland A's organization, reaching as high as High-A in the California League.
In his career, the Staten Island, N.Y., native has a 7-11 record with a 2.65 ERA and 10 saves, allowing 133 hits while striking out 158 in 153 career innings.
Hart's best season was 2010, when he went 3-1 with a 1.80 ERA, striking out 39 hitters in 30 innings of work. He joins lefties Justin Dowdy and Ronnie Morales and righty Griffin Bailey as offseason acquisitions on the AirHogs relief staff.
The AirHogs also came to terms with Morales on a contract for 2012 after acquiring him in a trade from Lancaster (Pa.) of the Atlantic League.
The 2011 American Association Champion Grand Prairie AirHogs begin the defense of their title on Thursday, May 17, against the Laredo Lemurs.
