New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

MANCHESTER, NH -The New Hampshire Fisher Cats Foundation, the statewide charitable arm of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, is answering a recent public appeal for funds from New Horizons for New Hampshire. The Foundation will donate up to $5,000 to New Horizons during a two-week fundraising initiative utilizing Facebook. From February 13th through February 29th, the Fisher Cats Foundation is challenging the community to "LIKE" the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Facebook in an effort to add 10,000 new Facebook fans before the end of February.

The team currently has a Facebook fan base of more than 3,600 fans and utilizes the page to share special offers and insider information about the team, players, and coaches. The New Hampshire Fisher Cats Foundation also announces community initiatives through the social networking site and provides fans with information on ways they can give back to their communities.

The Fisher Cats Foundation has partnered with WMUR, WHEB, Rock 101 and The Morning Buzz on the initiative. As part of a media campaign, each media outlet will post a link onto its respective Facebook page that direct fans to 'LIKE' the Fisher Cats team page. WMUR, WHEB, and Rock 101 and The Morning Buzz fans can then choose to like the Fisher Cats' page and support New Horizons.

"New Horizons for New Hampshire is excited to unite with the community in this great use of social media," said Charlie Sherman, Executive Director of New Horizons for New Hampshire. "We are honored to partner with the Fisher Cats and the Fisher Cats Foundation to help raise vital funds and resources that benefit people in the area who are in need, especially in these tough economic times."

"This initiative is a phenomenal opportunity for both organizations to make a positive impact on the community," said Rick Brenner, President of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. "New Horizons can continue to supply their necessary programs and the Fisher Cats Foundation can strengthen its ties with the community."

The Fisher Cats Foundation's donation will help New Horizons provide shelter for adults in the Greater Manchester area. New Horizons is currently in great need for beds that cost approximately $400 each.
