Houston Aeros News Release
SAN ANTONIO --- Joel Broda scored twice, David McIntyre notched two assists and goaltender Matt Hackett made 33 saves as the Houston Aeros beat the San Antonio Rampage 4-3 Sunday at AT&T Center.
The win pulled Houston into a second place West Division tie with the Abbotsford Heat. Both teams trail first place Oklahoma City by three points.
Houston rallied from deficits of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 to pick up the win, which was their fourth at San Antonio and 12th overall away from home. The Aeros have won six-straight games against the Rampage this season.
A three-goal second period, including a pair of power play tallies, boosted the Aeros to the win. After Evan Barlow's second goal of the game made it a 3-2 Rampage advantage at 7:54, Houston's Jon DiSalvatore answered with a power play goal at 10:33 to tie the game and Broda followed up with an even-strength goal at 15:59.
Hackett withstood a 14-4 shot disadvantage in the final 20 minutes to earn his ninth road win of the season and seventh in a row away from Toyota Center.
Barlow notched two goals and an assist for the Rampage whole teammate Greg Rallo assisted on all three Rampage goals. Dov Grumet-Morris made 20 stops in the loss.
Houston continues its four-game road swing at 6 p.m. CST this Wednesday at Grand Rapids.
