(Saint John, NB): The National Basketball League of Canada's leading scorer, Anthony Anderson, injured his hand during the game in Moncton last night, and doctors confirmed he will be out 3-4 weeks.

At the time of the injury he was the lone point guard on the Mill Rats roster.

In the meantime, the Mill Rats have signed two guards: 5'11 Darren Duncan from Brooklyn, NY and 6'0 Courtland Bluford from Fort Washington, MD. Both are expected to be in uniform tonight against the Quebec Kebs.

"This really stung because we were unable to finish the game strong against Moncton with Anthony out, and now we have a road game 48 hours later against a tough Quebec team," stated Mill Rats President & General Manager Ian McCarthy. "We had Duncan in camp and are confident with him in the lineup, and Courtland looks like he can contribute as well."

Duncan was an All-American at Division II Merrimack College averaging 19 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals per game. He won a championship in Austria last season and was named the Championship Most Valuable Player. He had spent time in the Czech Republic and Slovenia this year before returning to join the Mill Rats.

Bluford, who played in the same conference in college as Duncan (Northeast-10), averaged 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in college.

"Right now we would be in the playoffs if the season ended today, so the goal is to maintain our position and when Anthony Anderson returns, we'll be ready to make a run" stated Mill Rats Head Coach Jaren Jackson.

The Mill Rats face the #3 ranked Quebec Kebs tonight 7pm at Laval University in Quebec.

The next home game is January 15th at 5:00pm against the #1 ranked London Lightning. Mill Rats single game and flex tickets are now on sale at the Harbour Station box office 657-1234 or the Mill Rats office 214-4454.
