Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX DEC. 18, 2011 - Returning home after a six game road trip provided the perfect recipe for the Texas Legends as they ended their five game losing streak by defeating the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, 124-114.
Vance Cooksey was electric for the Legends scoring 18 points and dishing out 8 assists on the night. Booker Woodfox continued to impress with a team high 22 points, his fourth consecutive game as the high point man for Texas.
Back from the Minnesota Timberwolves training camp, Dominique Johnson poured in 17 points on seven of 13 shooting for the Legends.
Texas made 51.8% of their shots, the first time this season the team has eclipsed fifty percent from the field. Another bright spot for Texas was their ability to make free throws. The Legends were able to put the game away by sinking 35 of 38 from the charity stripe for 92.1%.
Kelvin Lewis led the Vipers with 28 points on the night, but it was Stanley Asumnu who provided the most trouble for Texas scoring 24 points and ripping down 14 rebounds.
Texas (2-7) will pack their bags for Austin as they'll face the Toros (5-3) at Cedar Park Center tomorrow night at 3:00PM Central Time.
