Armor to Host Draft Party November 3

Springfield Armor News Release
SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Springfield Armor will host their annual NBA Development League Draft party on Thursday, November 3 at the MVP Pub, located in the Sheraton Hotel (1 Boland Way) in downtown Springfield from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Fans will be able to purchase ticket packages and merchandise and Armor full and half season ticket holders will be able to pick up their 2011-12 tickets. The event is free and fans of all ages are welcome to attend as the Armor select players live via teleconference with the NBA.
Armor fans will have an opportunity to meet new Armor Head Coach, Bob MacKinnon, as well as Armor Assistant Coach, Chris Carrawell. Also on hand will be the Armor's mascot, Steal, the Armorettes dance team and members of both the Armor and New Jersey Nets' front office staffs. Free appetizers will be available and prizes will be raffled off throughout the evening.
The Los Angeles D-Fenders will have the first overall pick in the draft followed by the Austin Toros, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Texas Legends, Bakersfield Jam (from Iowa), Erie BayHawks, Bakersfield Jam, Erie BayHawks (from Idaho), Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Tulsa 66ers, Dakota Wizards, Bakersfield Jam (from Reno), Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Canton Charge and Tulsa 66ers (from Springfield).
The NBA D-League Draft utilizes a "serpentine" format, meaning the order will alternate in each of the eight rounds. For example, the team picking last in the first round will select first in the second round, giving them the 16th and 17th overall choices.
The Armor do not have a pick in the first round of this year's draft after dealing their first round selection to the Tulsa 66ers last season in exchange for the rights to Scottie Reynolds.
The Armor will kick off their draft with the first pick in the second round, the 17th overall selection, and will then also pick 48th, 49th, 80th, 81st, 112th and 113th overall in the 128-player draft.
