JamesOn Curry, Lance Hurdle, Eugene Spates Return to Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Springfield Armor today announced that JamesOn Curry, Lance Hurdle and Eugene Spates have signed NBA Development League contracts and will report to training camp with the Armor on November 14.

"I am pleased with the progress we are making in getting our players back to the Armor this season," said Armor Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. "With JamesOn, Lance and Eugene signed, we have a great base of guys to start working with for the upcoming season. In the next several weeks, we anticipate more familiar faces signing with us as we continue to assemble a team worthy of competing for a D-League Championship!"

Curry, who was the Armor's first-ever draft choice in 2009, played in 44 games (42 starts) during the 2010-11 season, averaging 15.5 points, 3.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Curry scored a season-high 38 points in a loss to Maine on December 17, 2010. During the Armor's inaugural season in 2009-10, Curry earned the first Gatorade NBA Call-Up in franchise history when he was signed to a 10-day contract by the Los Angeles Clippers on January 22, 2010. Curry is the Armor's all-time leader in points, assists and steals.

Hurdle, who was acquired from the Idaho Stampede in exchange for Tony Bobbitt on February 28, 2011, played in 14 games (5 starts) with the Armor during the 2010-11 season, averaging 13.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. Hurdle's best game with the Armor came on March 17, 2011 against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants when he scored 28 points in 33 minutes.

Spates, who was acquired from the Maine Red Claws in exchange for Vernon Goodridge on February 14, 2011, played in 17 games with the Armor during the 2010-11 season, averaging 9.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Spates' best game with the Armor came in the team's regular season finale when he scored 19 points against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

The Armor will hold open player tryouts at Springfield College tomorrow and Sunday as they continue to build their training camp roster in advance of their home opener on Friday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. against the Maine Red Claws.
