NHL Preseason Game Fan Fest September 24 at Epicentre

CHARLOTTE, NC-The Charlotte Checkers, in conjunction with the Carolina Hurricanes, announced today the NHL preseason game fan fest on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. at the EpiCentre plaza in Uptown Charlotte.

The fan fest will include games, prizes and a question and answer session from Checkers broadcaster Jason Shaya and chief fan rouser Wilson with Hurricanes and Checkers players. Also in attendance will be the CheckMates, members of the Hurricanes Storm Squad, Chubby and Hurricanes mascot Stormy.

Prior to the fan fest will be a donation of hockey equipment to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Greater Charlotte from the Hurricanes as well as a street hockey clinic featuring members of the Hurricanes and Charlotte-area youth.

In addition to the events above, the Checkers will celebrate the grand opening of their new offices in the EpiCentre with tours and merchandise specials in the new Bears Den store.

Tickets for the NHL preseason game, presented by Husqvarna, between the Hurricanes and Winnipeg Jets at Time Warner Cable Arena the following day (Sept. 25) will be available for purchase and start as low as $20.

The Checkers' home opener is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15 at Time Warner Cable Arena against the Peoria Rivermen. Season tickets and mini-plans are on sale now and start as low as $10 per game.
