Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today the team has agreed to terms with Defenseman Ryan McGinnis. The announcement marks the second stint with the Everblades for McGinnis, who totaled 12 points (2g, 10a) and a plus-13 rating in 43 games played with the 'Blades during the 2008-09 season.

McGinnis, 24, returns to the blades after spending last season with the Kalamazoo Wings posting 21 points (5g, 16a) in 30 games. The 6'2", 206-lb defenseman helped lead the Wings to an Eastern Conference Championship last spring, putting up eight points (1g, 7a) in 15 playoff appearances. McGinnis also added a goal and assist in 19 games with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

"Ryan is a big puck moving defenseman with good offensive skill," said coach Poss. "He is very sound defensively as well. Ryan has played with the Everblades before, and we are excited to have him back here in the community"

The Flint, Michigan native is a 2005 sixth-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Kings. In addition, McGinnis has 71 games of AHL experience during the past three seasons playing for Albany, Norfolk, and Manitoba.
