Sox and Indians Will Meet in Sunday Doubleheader
Kinston, NC - Heavy mid-afternoon showers and an ominous evening forecast combined to postpone Saturday night's contest between the Salem Sox and the Kinston Indians. The two clubs will square off in a pair of seven-inning games on Sunday, beginning at 12:30 PM.
Sunday's twin-bill will be the third doubleheader between Salem and Kinston at Grainger Stadium this season. On April 27, the Red Sox won the opener 16-6 before falling 6-0 in the nightcap. On June 13, the Indians took the first game 2-0, while the Sox emerged victorious 2-1 in the finale.
The Red Sox saw their three-game winning streak come to an end on Friday night, suffering a 10-2 loss in the series opener in Kinston. Salem currently resides five and a half games behind the Winston-Salem Dash in the Southern Division second-half race.
