Stockton Thunder News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, and head coach Matt Thomas announced today that the team has re-signed center Jordan Foreman. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Foreman, 24, is the third returning player from last year's Thunder team that advanced to the Kelly Cup Playoffs for the fifth consecutive season, tied a club record with 86 points and won 37 games, one shy of tying another club mark.

"Getting Jordan back in Thunder colors was a big priority for us this summer after he became a big piece to our puzzle last season, especially in March," said Thomas. "When he became healthy, he upped his game when we needed it the most. I don't know if there was a hotter player on our team during the stretch drive. We're looking for him to be a force offensively come the drop of the puck in October."

In 2010-11, his first season as a member of the Thunder, Foreman skated in 40 ECHL games, notching 25 points (10g-15a) and 116 penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound pivot led the club with 16 points in 14 games during March, when the Thunder went 7-4-3 to clinch a playoff berth for the fifth consecutive season. During the month, Foreman's eight goals tied Jordan Fulton for the team lead and he pitched in with a hat trick and tied a career-high with four points (3g-1a) in an 8-4 win against Victoria on Mar. 27.

Foreman was signed by the Thunder as a free agent on Aug. 11, 2010. He has suited up in 110 career professional games through three seasons (2008-11) with Missouri of the Central Hockey League, the Thunder and Alaska Aces of the ECHL, scoring 55 points (26g-29a) while tallying 357 penalty minutes.

The native of Cambridge, Ontario skated with the Detroit Red Wings in the 2008 NHL Prospects Tournament.

"I'm very excited to come back to Stockton where there's a coach in Matt Thomas and supportive fanbase who are very fun to play for," said Foreman. "I'm looking forward to a healthy season and continuing to find ways to get even stronger. The final two months of last season proved how much I can contribute and I'm looking forward to more of those opportunities moving ahead."

Foreman enjoyed a five-year junior career (2003-08) in the Ontario Hockey League with the London Knights and Niagara IceDogs, scoring 157 points (76g-81a) in 240 games and posting 594 penalty minutes. He was a member of London's 2004-05 team that captured the Memorial Cup championship and he tallied six points (3g-3a) and 49 penalty minutes during the postseason.
