Lowell Spinners News Release
LOWELL, MA - The Lowell Spinners, Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are pleased to announce the launch of the official Lowell Spinners app, a free download now available to fans on their Android, iPhone and iPod Touch smart phones.
The app, developed by Avenue Networks, will allow fans to keep track of the Spinners on the go throughout the season, engaging fans using the most up-to-date technologies.
"We're very excited to announce the official release of the mobile app," said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "There's nothing better than following the Spinners throughout the season at LeLacheur Park, but now we have a way to connect to our loyal fans even when they can't be at the game!"
"Avenue Networks' innovative mobile platform provides a framework that is flexible and scalable," said Bill Sullivan, CEO of Avenue Networks. "Our platform helps to deliver a mobile application solution to teams looking to connect to their fans anywhere at any time."
The app will have several different features, with even more interactive tools in development. The initial release will feature live game tracking of each Spinners game, complete promotional listings, schedule and seating information, the option to purchase tickets using the Spinners secure ticket system, player information and much more.
"We like to make every night special at LeLacheur Park," said Bawmann. "Now your Spinners experience can be had not just at the park, but in your car, in the office, on your couch or even from the beach! The ability to connect anywhere is amazing."
Spinners' fans will have technology at the fingertips throughout the summer, as the Spinners have also partnered with Munchly to provide an app allowing fans to order concessions from the comfort of their seat, having the product delivered directly to their seat. The Spinners app will also keep fans connected to the teams through the team's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube accounts.
The app is available now for free in the Android Market and Apple iTunes Store by searching for "Lowell Spinners." The Spinners season begins on June 17, when they open against the Connecticut Tigers at LeLacheur Park.
