SALEM, VA - The Salem Red Sox, Advanced Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, and the Lions of Virginia are collecting monetary donations for the victims and families affected by the tornados that touched down in Pulaski last week. The Lions of Virginia will have a table set up on the main concourse during the Thursday, April 14 game and will be accepting monetary donations to help those in need. "We want to help out as much as possible," said Salem Red Sox general manager, Todd Stephenson. "The residents of Pulaski are in great need and we will do whatever we can to help our neighbors to the south."
The Lions of Virginia has already donated $50,000 to the cause and an additional $10,000 grant is currently pending.
"The Lions' motto is 'We Serve'," said a spokesperson from the Lions of Virginia. "Thank you for helping us serve our community in a great time of need."
